Texture and material construction: The sewing of cuffs, handle and straps is well done, but nylon does cheapen the effect in my opinion. The cuffs are soft on the inside and shouldn't become uncomfortable. The fabric could become hot after extended use in warmer weather, however.

Review Details: The design of the entire Scandal line is gorgeous, in my opinion. It's got that boudoir feel that you want to show off, and that's certainly the point of the control cuffs. This isn't an entirely novel idea: two cuffs connect in the center with a nylon strap and clasp. The straps provide enough length to give you a "handle". Although, this seems like a bit of a misnomer. As the product packaging suggests, this can be used to move your partner's ankles or even wrists into place.

The Scandal control cuffs are soft and plush with a velour lining that's comfortable. The Velcro straps are easy to use, but people with especially longer fingers (or agile toes?) might be able to get out of them. These are definitely beginner-friendly cuffs. This is especially true if there is slack in the handle between the cuffs.

You can adjust the straps so there's just three inches between the cuffs, however. The exterior is a brocade-like black-on-red design that I cannot get enough of. Because these cuffs are intended for ankle use, they are a little wider: 2.5". This limits flexibility, but that's also why you're tying someone up. If I hadn't started my BDSM set in purple, I'd consider getting many people in the Scandal set. They're a good intro to bondage, even for the skittish.
