Like an idling truck

I'm going to preface this by saying that the purple wand looks much darker in person than it does in the photos. The photos strike me as "violet" while in-person it looks more like "grape" or "royal purple." It has a sparkle that reminds me of car paint. This isn't terribly important but I thought I'd mention it. If you want a bright color you may want to go with the red one.

Anyway, I picked up the Doxy Die Cast because I hit a point in my life where I was going to absolutely lose it if my rechargeable vibes ran out of power one more time in the middle of using them, and I chose it above the Magic Wand because, frankly, the MW is ugly af and I don't believe in owning non-cute toys.

The lowest setting on the Die Cast is thuddy and feels like an idling truck. The first two settings are surprisingly quiet. It starts getting a bit noisy on the third setting, and frankly I've been too afraid to go any higher than the third because I think that would make my soul leave my body. The second intensity tends to be my "just right" one unless I'm having an especially difficult day. Another aspect of the vibrations is that they stay in the head rather than traveling up the handle and making your hand go numb.

The Die Cast is large and somewhat heavy as you'd expect, and the head of it is big and hard with a satin-like texture. If you are going to put it directly on yourself, I suggest using a touch of lube because otherwise it may drag and it can hurt. If you prefer a softer touch or more precise vibrations, you will want to pick up some attachments, use it through fabric, or hold it against another toy so the vibrations can travel through it.

The cord is good and long so I never feel like I'll accidentally yank it out of the outlet. The plug has a clever little adapter built in for different outlet types. The wand does heat up a bit during use, but I've never had it get worryingly hot. It's pretty easy to clean with a damp washcloth or toy wipe.

Overall, the Die Cast is a gigantic luxury vibe that you could probably club a home intruder with if you needed to. The MW or MW+ would surely get me off just as well, but the Doxy Die Cast does it so very stylishly. As long as it lasts a good while, I consider it a worthwhile investment.
