The Perfect Plain Jane

This is a very basic dildo. The Silk Medium has no texture, no pronounced head, no squish, no significant curve, etc. That’s why I bought it. This was my first proper dildo, and I wanted small and safe. The Silk Medium is a great introduction to adult toys, and it’s a good choice for anyone particularly sensitive or new to penetration. Its size and lack of texture makes it ideal as a warmup for something larger too.

The Silk Medium is my choice for a lazy day. Unlike other dildos, I can use the Silk Medium without much warmup or effort. I keep water-based lubricant handy, but it’s not always necessary. It's so smooth that it glides comfortably with just my natural lubrication. I use a small bullet vibe, and it’s off to the finish line…in a relaxed and lazy way.

Cons? I’m not sure there are any real cons. I do think the official description here could use an update: the Silk Medium is not ideal for G-spot stimulation. It’s purposely designed as a plain dildo, so its simplicity is not a disadvantage. It does pick up lint like crazy, but it’s great quality silicone and super easy to clean.

I've had the Silk Medium for several months now, and it was the perfect choice for me. I definitely recommend it to beginners, the super sensitive, and anyone interested in a warmup toy.

A great basic silicone dildo

Texture and material construction: Somewhat soft and pliable medical grade silicone that is extremely smooth with no ridges or variation in girth (after the tip) with a light curve - Very well made, no seams or other manufacturing flaws.

Review Details: This is probably the best first dildo in a collection, it is body safe, not that expensive, reasonable in size, and not intimidating in anyway. It can be used by most people either vaginally or anally with water based lube without discomfort and the curve fits the body really well to glide along the g-spot or prostate. It would be a great choice to use with harness with a nervous receiver as it long enough t allow some thrusting but the smoothness should keep everything gentle.

In the end however, I find it just a little too plain for me and prefer some of the other Tantus offerings better.

Simple, Subtle, Sublime

Texture and material construction: Honestly, Tantus' silicone is so good I can't imagine giving any of their dildos less than five stars. It's nicely firm, yet flexible and slightly squeezable; it's high-quality and will likely last longer than you or I will; it's beautiful, with the shimmery pearlescence they add to it; and like all true silicone, it's nonporous, sterilizable, and body-safe. The Silk Medium has a glossy-smooth surface texture which slides nicely with a little water-based lube.

Review Details: This was the very first dildo ever used on me in a harness! So of course, I do have fond feelings toward it just for that reason. But I also want to say how nice it felt. The size is on the small side, but not so small that you won't feel anything. The tip is smoothly rounded, so it's easy to insert without discomfort. The shaft is smooth and featureless, true, but it has a very nice curve that results in gentle but very enjoyable g-spot stimulation. It's a great choice for hard and fast thrusting, since that can be done without causing too much friction or cervix-jabbing. And of course, the nice wide base is perfect for staying in a harness, and makes a decent hand-hold for using it alone. The smooth shape and wide base also make this a great anal toy, which I haven't tried...yet.

I highly recommend this dildo to those who are extra-sensitive, like me, and to those who want to try something new and start out with something gentle.

Smooth as Silk

Texture and material construction: Material: Tantus Silk medium is made out of plush, flexible silicone. Silicone is hypo-allergenic, non porous, smell and taste free, and able to be sanitized by boiling or bleaching. When held by the base, the shaft easily flops up and down. The shaft is able to be bent in all different directions. This makes insertion, especially when inserting anally, very difficult. The shaft does not hold up when pressure is applied.

Silicone toys are known to have drag when applied to the skin, and this toy is no exception. The drag is easily remedied with some good water based lubricants. Silicone is only compatible with water based lubes, but if you want to chance it with a silicone lube be sure to do a patch test on the base first. The flexibility will not provide those who need firm G-spot or P-spot stimulation.

Texture: Silk is seam free, and the only texture on this dildo is the Tantus logo which is located on the base. The whole toy is extremely plush. Any part of the toy is easily squished in.

Review Details: Color: I got this toy in the pink color (the pink color is no longer available). It is just as gorgeous in person as it is online. The pink is very pearlescent. It is a very light pink with glittery swirls.

Design/Size: The flared base not only makes this toy anal safe but harness compatible as well. I do not own a harness, so I cannot tell you how this dildo performed in one. The tip is very blunt and rounded. The type of tip plus the flexibility makes this one really hard to insert. I found it easier to hold the toy mid-shaft while inserting the tip. Otherwise the whole toy will bend in half once you apply pressure. Once the tip is in, it is smooth sailing.

I much preferred this toy anally. It provided some great double penetration experiences with my husband and I. I did find the base to be somewhat too big. The width of the base was not an issue, because it was so flexible. The base length was what caused us issues. While I was on top, the base kept hitting my husband's testicles in the most painful way. We found that doggie style was the way to go when using this toy for double penetration. This dildo lacked the texture, length, girth, curve, and firmness I need in order to have a G-spot orgasm so this toy does not go near my vagina anymore. Packaging: This toy came in the typical Tantus clear box. The toy is held in a plastic tray on the inside of the box. There are some cleaning and care information located on the side of the box. You can use the packaging for storage, but the top broke off of mine pretty easily and quickly. Now I use a simple Ziploc bag to store this toy in.

Cleaning: There are a number of different ways to clean this toy. You can wash with warm water and antibacterial soap. You can use your favorite toy cleaner as well. For a deeper clean, you can boil this toy for 3-5 minutes or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution
